YOUR MAC EDUCATION
I often have customers ask me how I learn and keep up with all this Apple & Macintosh “stuff.” I tell them I read Mac-Apple related web sites regularly. I try to stay abreast of new products, new technology and software.
Even if you just want to be a Mac computer user, and not a technician, I believe you owe it to yourself to stay educated and aware of current issues regarding Macintosh and Apple and the tech available for your home. One of the best ways to do this is to read online information and tech info websites.
Below are links to some websites I have found to be very useful in helping to stay abreast of the ever evolving world of the Macintosh computer and Apple mobile products.
Also, join and attend a local Macintosh-Apple user group! You can learn a lot and network with the other Mac-Apple product users in your area. Remember, you are not alone. Included below is a link to find a Mac-Apple user group in your area.

Books
There are many good books on learning the Macintosh Operating System and Apple mobile products.
Pick the ones that fit your learning style. If you like to read and dig deep, you will probably like the The Missing Manual series by David Pogue.
If you prefer more graphics and photos, and a bit less reading, then choose The Teach Yourself Visually series. If you are already familiar with macOS and all you want are quick tips and how to’s (with color screen-shots) then the Killer Tips books can’t be beat.
As Apple comes out with newer versions of the operating system, most of these authors will update or re-write their books, so be sure to update your reference books as well.
The link below takes you to amazon.com for macOS Sierra:
For newer macOS systems, simply substitute the new macOS name in the Amazon search box, and there is certainly a book on it.
ALSO, eBooks are a good option and are very reasonably priced.
• TidBits Take Control eBooks https://www.takecontrolbooks.com/
You download them to your computer and read them. Usually as PDF documents, but other formats are available, such as Kindle.
I highly recommend the Take Control eBook series. They cover a vast variety of Macintosh subjects.
